This week begins with the usual flair, although we did go to an early movie today as saw "Death at a funeral". It was funny, but not as I anticipated while with all the funny actors that were in it. Still worth seeing. New jewelry to show off. I finished 2 bracelets just for me. The first is a copper Viking knit wire woven bracelet that I hand sewn tiny metal colored seed beads to. A striking look. I made a new funky hook closure to finish it. I'm always trying to make new clasps that are different from the usual. I'm thinking about making one in sterling silver for sale in my Etsy shop . The next bracelet is a cuff made with heavy gauge copper wire. Definitely my personal style; it has the look of a goddess or warrior style. I learned this one from one of my favorite teachers, Stacy Perry . Priorities. I've had to set priorities on just what I can accomplish in a day. Work, exercise, meditate, time with God, taking care of the home, managing my shops on-line, making new jewelry, marketing my jewelry, looking for local shops, just to name an average day. So, of course, I've neglected this blog and following the blogs that I like to read. I'm off today, from the new job that is, and let me tell you; it is so hard, physically to get back into things when you haven't worked for 8 months. I'm out of shape, gained weight(which I've mentioned to a few recently). And my chosen profession takes alot of physical capabilities. I'm on my feet the entire time, I have to lift heavy dogs, walk them, do laundry, clean hospital; these are just some of the physical tasks required in addition to my veterinary nursing skills that I must perform also. I am soooo tired an the end of the day. My feet hurt, ankles hurt, my back hurts, I usually have a headache. BUT, I...

So far so good, even though it is only Monday, but mine has started off just fine. Except for the heat; already. I can't believe how hot and humid it is already here in Florida. I wanted to take some new photos today, and I'm glad I did this morning before noon. As it will only get hotter as the day progresses! Here's what we did in class last week. We made scarf pins! Now I know this is not timely, but I made a few and will put them away until fall before I list or start to sell them. The first 2 are made form pure copper, that has been oxidized, tumble polished and hand polished as well. I have a polishing cloth that I got once from a jeweler, which is similar to the "Sunshine" cloth that is popular right now. And of course we are working with coils. The second pin has a beautiful lampwork bead (from "Catalina Glass") that is various shades of green and gold glitter sparkles throughout it. Good Morning! My new book is here, my new book is here! I'm talking about, of course the latest book by Joyce Meyer, "Never Give Up". It came in the mail yesterday. I can't wait to get into it. It is probably just what I need right now to be reading. I will let you know all about it. Speaking of books, I hope everyone got their books who won the giveaway contest that I had a couple of weeks ago. I hope you're all enjoying them. Well, last Friday I mentioned that in my class we were going to learn etching. And we did. It was fun, not too difficult to do, just the chemicals smell and you need to have proper ventilation and be careful, because the etching chemical does stain, and is not easy to remove. You'll have to wait until this weekend to see photos though, as I made a cute pair of earrings, and learned a new technique to make a different style of ear wires; unfortunately they are not finished, and we will be finishing them this week in class along with a ne...

Over the weekend, I watched this DVD by Joyce Meyer. It is the most powerful and influential video that I have ever seen from this ministry. It really touched my heart. Well! I'm feeling a little happy today! I made some earrings for the gallery and took them there. I have to admit; I almost don't feel like my current work is not "good enough" to be in this shop. This blog post may sound all over the place, as my thoughts are too. First of all, on the advice of my husband, I took the plunge and opened an EBAY store. I know, I know, many others have advised against this. Their fees are too high, the site is slow to download, etc, etc. But, they do have a high number of dedicated customers. And so, in these desperate times, I'll give it a try! Here's a few things that you'll find over there: Last week I didn't make much new, due to the fact that I did work a temporary job at Edible Arrangements.com. It was very busy and tiring, since it was Valentine week. Well, at least I brought in a paycheck for the week! My quest continues, as I look for a part/full time job, even if I do have to go back into veterinary medicine. I do need to make some earrings as requested by one of the galleries that I have some things in right now. January 29, 2009--A day of wasted time. My day started out good. I colored my hair early this morning, went to check out a farmers/fresh market. Got some good produce and stuff, but not a good place to showcase my jewelry. This is where the "not so fun" of my day began. I have a list of items that I needed to buy for this weekend's PMC WORKSHOP that I'm attending, but first wanted to check out on line where I should go to purchase them at good prices, you know to save time, well my computer got funky and I spent about 1/2 an hour trying to reboot and got nowhere. So venture out I went. I had to go to 5 different stores to locate what I needed, then spent 3 HOURS in my car stuck in traffic! There was some sort of accident (the police and fire trucks had the road closed) and may I mention ONE BLOCK FROM WHERE I LIVE. The only other way to get to our condo is to go back around to the highway and circle all around, you see we live on one side of a lake and there is no way...

Now wait just a minute here and let me back up a bit. Don't you like the suspense anyway? So I must say that I did get off the couch yesterday and completed everything that I was procrastinating. Except for the cats. But I did that this morning,; trimming their nails and brushing Rex. He needs to be brushed. He is a long haired cat, and most of the time looks like he just crawled out of the garbage dumpster! Sorry Rex, we love you! And he hates to be brushed! He just growls the whole time.
