A dreary morning walk and food

Image
Overall update: Walked 2.17 miles today. No weight loss, in fact I have gained 2 pounds. It's the morning after Thanksgiving, a dreary morning. It just stopped raining, although I would have walked in the rain too. So the ground's a bit slick. I feel good. No more foot pain, just typical muscle soreness in my thighs and hips, which is to be expected. So what's my problem? What I put in my mouth. I am not sticking to my Weight Watcher's plan and counting my points. I know for myself, if I don't follow the plan the way it is outlined, I don't loose weight. I'm eating too much junk, and too frequently. (This is where I struggle). For Thanksgiving I ate just a normal sized amount of food, plus dessert, because deprivation doesn't work. What do you do when you're eating at another's house? You can't ask your host to make everything fat free, or expect them to count your points for you. So, I eat what I want, in smaller quantities...

A lazy Sunday

Image
Went to the farmer's market this morning to get some fresh fruits and vegetables. It seemed like a little better choice and quality over the supermarket. I guess a lot of people are getting ready for Superbowl parties today. We were invited to one, but are not going. This particular party gets very crowded, and I don't want to be tempted to eat things that I shouldn't. So we will stay home and have a "planned dinner". It's just 4 weeks until my next show! I was hoping to work on some new pieces today, but that's not going to happen. I'm feeling quite lazy right now. But, tomorrow I will definately work all day on new jewelry! Here's some new pieces I did finish this week, and are ready for the show! Or anyone who may want to purchase now. Enjoy the eye candy! Week 1 weigh in

Image
I've been trying to eat the "Weight Watchers" way all week, and have been hungry too. I'm continuing to exercise vigorously 3 times a week. So, it came my first week's weigh in; and guess what? I gained 1.6 lbs! Well, this really helps my attitude. Now I could blame this on the pants I was wearing that day; they were heavier, but I had alot of business running around to do that day, and had to wear nice pants. (I'm not going to wear the same out fit each week that I go and weigh in) But, I must say, it is difficult to follow the system unless you buy the extra "starter kit" or something, because I really didn't have much access to calculate my points for this week. I did buy the new calculator, (which was on sale for 1/2 price) and this should help some. What gets me is this; I've eaten the same breakfast (whole grain English muffin, piece of Canadian bacon, and Egg Beaters) that used to be 4 points, now is 7 points. How is this an im...

Julie and Julia

Image
Last night I watched the movie "Julie and Julia", and although I am not a fan of Julia Child or French cooking, I must say that I really enjoyed this movie and all the feel good qualities it possesses. So interesting, the true life story of Julia Child , an American living in Paris, who takes her boredom, and desire to bring French cooking to the American house wife. She shows a true spirit of being who you can be, doing what you love, persistence, and entrepreneurship. Two things that she possessed which spoke to me, was her desire to never give up, and a deeply loving and supporting husband. I also could relate to Julie Powell , a struggling writer, searching to find herself, who discovers to joy of cooking, blogging, and again, doing what you love and never giving up. If you are an entrepreneur, a writer feeling stuck, a blogger, love to cook, love to eat, or just love life, than I highly recommend viewing this movie. Enjoy!
