Who's that girl?

Happy 45th birthday to me. As I sit and ponder life and it's meaning, I feel the pain in my aching back, my plantar fasciitis and my weight gain from last year's 10 months of unemployment. I ask myself, "What's it all about?"
Feeling the urge for something new, a change in my routine, some excitement; and yet wanting to have more time to recline, relax, and read a good book. Crazy? You might say. I conclude this to be my 45th year on this earth as a mid-life crisis.
And it's been a long time coming. The boredom at my job, questioning by career choices, looking to do something new, inspired, exciting. But also a slight longing for my youth; wanting to be outrageous, wild, unique, different, on the edge. The edge of what? I'm already on the edge of sanity. Longing, hoping for that inner peace that one achieves on a spiritual inner journey of the heart and soul. Which, by the way, I've been searching for many years.
