What's happening?

Image
Well....here's the latest in a nut shell. Start a new "temp" job on Monday. It is not in the veterinary field. I am going to be a cook's assistant. One of the things that I like to do. Cook. And I've thought about cartering at one time, so at least this will get me out of the house and keep my busy for a while. Wait- what? I won't have all that time to work on new jewelry projects, network, chat on line, and all that other stuff, I tend to spend WAY too many hours doing! But, I look at at this way, it is a time to grow. I think something bigger than just a job (a larger than life force) is at work here. Went to the doctor's yesterday, they're sending me for blood work. EEEk! My least favorite thing to do. I did notice that my blood pressure was up from my usual low reading. Something to do with my weight gain? Probably. Thyroid issues? I guess I'll find out. EARRINGS, EARRINGS, EARRINGS: Yes, I've been on an earring kick. A coup...

Introducing: Dress Green soaps and skin care

Image
I love to shop. I seem to be on the never ending journey to find, try, and buy new skin care products and lotions. So I just have to rave about " Dress Green " on Etsy. Never being totally satisfied with a face cleanser, and looking for one that is cost effective, I ordered, the Detoxifying Rosemary Orange Facial Soap with Rhassoul Clay and Evening Primrose Oil. The first thing I noticed when I was opening up the package, was the wonderful smell. I think it was ginger. And what a great face soap this is! I like a foaming type cleanser and not a gel or dry grains type. So this one hit the spot. And I must say, that I enjoy the aroma therapeutic benefits of a product, so nature essential oils, or natural aromas are a must for me. Then I tried the " Your Morning Cup of Coffee Body Exfoliant and Moisturizer " OMG! After using all the ones that are greasy, slippery, and leave oil in the tub, or the ones that really don't do any kind of exfoliating, this one's a w...

Gemstone Myths and Lore Part 3

Image
This is the third in a series of gemstone lore, A to Z. This issue's picks are: QUARTZ: A wide variety of quartz in various colors can be found commonly. Many call clear or pointed quartz, just "crystals". Quartz has long been used throughout history by shamans and in religious ceremonies for their "so called" magical and mystical powers. Rose quartz, or pink quartz is quite commonly used to attract love, to help one show love, or anything having to do with beauty. It has been found in tombs of Egypt, thought to be used as a beautification aid and often used in facial masks. Smokey quartz found in South America is said to hold an "earth" energy and is used for grounding one's energy. It is said to help with depression and negative emotions. various types of quartz RHODOCHROSITE: Discovered by the Incas, it was believed that the blood of ancient Inca rulers turned to stone in this form. It was long treasured by the people, and sometimes referred to ...

Tuesday's news

Image
It's a dreary, drizzly day outside today here in Florida. It's the kind of day that makes me want to crawl under a blanket, light some candles and veg. But, I do have my list to do today, so first let me congratulate Sue W. who has won my bracelet giveaway! I just sent her a note and will be packaging up her new bracelet to send on its way. Now here's a fun idea that I had for monthly specials in my Etsy shop . It's a BIRTHSTONE SPECIAL . Each month, I will post the birthstone/color and anything in my shop that is of the birthstone of the month's color will receive an additional discount off listed price. The only requirement is that the customer leave me a note, in the notes to seller of anything relating to the birthstone or color, for instance this month is sapphire, so you could put "sapphire", "blue", "Sept"., or something like that in the notes to get the special. And I've decided to continue to do FREE SHIPPING, for now at le...

I'm all over the place today. Wanting to blog, but too many ideas, wanting to update on things, but not wanting this to be a 3 page post! So...here we go. Personally: I have cramps. I feel like crap. I think I'm addicted to chocolate. Anything chocolate. What else can I put chocolate on? O.k., so I'm having a craving; a big one! I was hoping to get alot done today, but found myself after my morning meeting with lady friends, back at home, on the couch, watching FOODTV. Any chocolate recipes I could try? I fell asleep, for many hours. A too long of a nap for me. God, I feel old. The other day I did a "real" cardio workout; meaning I actually pulled out my step bench from the closet and did a good workout. Although I didn't feel good afterwards. I was much winded, no energy, and weak. Is this how I'm suppose to feel? I don't think so. I guess I'm just so out of shape, yet flexible from doing yoga! I had heart palpitations. So I found myself on WebMD ...
