Good Monday morning! Well, it's really late afternoon here, as I finally get around to making a post. I try to have photos to show at every blog post, so, sometimes I end up waiting to show off my new goodies that I've made. I've had a supply crisis recently; running out of just about every gauge of wire in silver and copper that I use! But I found a sale last week, (yeah!) and my new wire has just arrived today. And I bought a wire rounder. I've been wanting one for awhile, and have been using my files or dremel to smooth wire. But what's cool about this tool, is that it has a cup burr on the end, so I think it will help to make really nice ends on ear wires. BTW: have I mentioned that I got new business cards and jewelry tags with my new Etsy shop banner ? I had JacksonInk make these for me. Emily is fairly new to Etsy, and she does nice work and is prompt. She has made a few things for me. I'm slowing changing all my social networking sites to this b...

As I look out on the lawn this morning, what do I see? Not one, not two, but three deer! Feeding on the grass! I could not believe how close they came to the house. So I had to take photos through the screened in porch, as to not scare them away. So nice living on a nature preserve. Would you believe that I've spent the last 3 days, networking on line, updating my shops and reading ALL of the Merchants Handbook on 1000 Markets? No time to make jewelry! I thought I would get at least some earrings made today, but as I look at the clock, it's 2:30pm and I have to leave to meet a friend at 3:30. Anyway....what else is new? Well, I've been trying to really take care of my body, and watch what I eat. So I can say that I've successfully have been exercising more, about 3-4 days a week. I'm trying not to eat snacks all day long, since I'm home. Started drinking fruit smoothies that I make myself, to keep hunger away, and trying to eat more salads, and smaller portions....

Christmas in July; sounds funny to some of us, but this creative "un" holiday is celebrated by many. Originally thought to have started in Europe, as the summer heat comes, people crave the cooler weather and the cheer that comes with Christmas. Many celebrate by decorating, gift giving, with Santa, ice cream and other cold foods. This is a well celebrated event in Australia, where many hotels, restaurants, and caterers will offer special "Christmas in July" dinners. Local shops will offer specials, including figurines of Santa and related holiday representative characters. Co-incidentally, July is the height of Australia's ski resorts season, making it a great marketing opportunity. This is believed to have started in the western countries by retail merchants. Prettier that I actually thought it would. Lots of sterling silver used for this one. It has artisan lampwork beads by Melissa Vess and African Kazuri beads. Now tomorrow I hope to add to my shop another bracelet (that I really like for myself) called "Arabian Nights". Oh, I might as well show you now. It's got artisan lampwork again and I used a combination of sterling and copper to create this twisted wire. I think I'll be doing more this this combo wire. It looks like rose gold. Very pretty! And a funky style swan clasp. I just finished listing some new supplies in my supply shop also today. Lots of sterling silver. More to come tomorrow. Ah, my clean work space. I finally got rid of all the paper, notes, plastic bags, and partially done projects. And you know what? I think I can work better here now. Shocker, isn't it? :) I do love it when I'm organized! There's my little fan to keep me cool while I create. On the other side is my computer. You know what's great? I can watch (or mostly listen) to Netflix (movies or TV shows) while I work. Here's a couple of new items: "Harry Potter" themed earrings. Now the funny thing is, I posted them in my Etsy shop on Wednesday, went out and showed them to a friend and SOLD! Wow, no one even got to see them! So there you go. This "Floral splendor " bracelet I added today. Now there is a matching necklace, that I hoped to have finished today, but as we speak, it and another bracelet are tumbling.
