In case you're wondering, Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription service, that brings sample and trial sizes of make-up and skin care samples to your door for $10.00 a month. This month's box was kind of a bomb for me. Nothing I would purchase for myself. First product: Mirenesse Glossy Kiss lip crayon : First and most importantly, this is a color that I would not wear, (I did at least try it on), so I can't really comment on the products hydration factor (as it claims), or its lasting ability. Elite Therapeutics Rosemary Eucalyptus body creme : A very light moisturizer with a terrible smell. I won't use it. Amika Blowout Spray : Said to volumize, smooth, and protect the hair before blow-drying. Come on now-have you seen my hair? Went to CVS with coupons. What I got: Wet n Wild nail polishes in 474C-"Nuclear War" and 481#-"Putting on Airs" NYC's City Proof 24 hr. waterproof eyeshadow in 655 "Madison Square Park" After coupons, I paid ($.14) 14 cents! Not big enough to call a haul, but I am happy to share my "steal deal"!

This is a story about human trafficking, illegal drugs and murder. It’s one, in a series of “Mia Quinn” mysteries. Mia Quinn, county prosecutor, takes on a case of a murdered Chinese prostitute and finds out more than she bargained for. While trying to convict the accused rich American of this crime, a string of murders occur, all that seemed to be linked to the case of the murdered prostitute, but a crucial piece of the puzzle is missing. Mia tries to solve the crimes with the help of homicide detective, Charlie Carlson. In the meantime, the dead girl’s mother wants to bring her own kind of justice for her murdered daughter. If that’s not enough, Mia’s son gets involved doing illegal drugs, steroids, and somehow gets caught in the same web of criminal activity. I liked this story of crime and court room drama. What I got this month: Ouidad color preserving shampoo and conditioner: This is a quality brand that I've used before. They came in a nice travel size of 2.5 oz. bottles. Ouidad makes great products for curly hair, and can be purchased at Ulta . I got 2 sample pots of O rogold cosmetics 24K multi-vitamin day moisturizer . I must admit, I never heard of this product line before. This is a very high end line which includes gold as an ingredient that is said to reduce the signs of aging by plumping and firming the skin, and give the skin radiance. The sample size of 15grams costs $58.00 and the full size product is 50mls. at $118.00. Way out of my price range, but is was nice to have a chance to try it in my Glossybox this month. This month's box I swapped out most of the products picked for me. Did I mention that you can preview your box before it ships and select other products to swap out? This is a good feature that Julep does have. I kept this nail polish selection which is called,"Nayely". It's a light apricot creme. Then I swapped out the next 2 products for these. Julep's "light on your lips" full coverage creme lipstick in "primp" , which is a neutral beige with pink undertones. I've got to admit that I just don't like some of the lip products that Julep is coming out with. The color is nice, but the lipstick smells like rancid oil. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about-like when a product goes bad. Their lipsticks could use some work. What they do a fabulous job at is the gel eye glider pencils . These are the most smooth pencils that do "glide on" and completely waterproof and smudge proof after about 30 seconds. T...

I recently found a discount for 30% off Milani Cosmetics that I couldn't pass up. So here's my "mini haul". ~Bella eyes gel powder eye shadow in "Bella Mandarin". It's a matte shade, kind of soft in color, and somewhat "dry/powdery". Not quite what I was expecting, but it will serve it's purpose in color. I got 2 "Brilliant shine" lip glosses- one in "Mai Tai"; a bright orange, and "Nude Touch", a beige with gold micro-sparkles. These glosses are a little sticky for my liking. They have the standard doe foot applicator. The Nude Touch one has a butter cream like fragrance, that I do enjoy, but the Mai Tai has none. I find that unusual, since I believe that these came from the same collection. FYI: I prefer the NYX butter glosses over these. NYX's are way longer lasting and a bit moisturizing.
