In case you haven't noticed

Image
Sunday:unplugged No internet; no social networking; no checking in with my Etsy shop. I took a relaxing day of rest! Haven't done that in a while. I'm having to dig deep to come up with some kind of content here for my blog. As topics are not flowing gracefully from my brain. I'm trying to come up with things you might want to read about, see or learn about, without spending a whole lot of time on this thing. I mean, with Facebook and all, I'm not sure who is even reading this blog lately! Starry Night earrings (They) say that you should be consistent when posting to your blog; same time and day; same time each week. (They) say to post content that your readers want to see. I know everybody likes to see photos, but I'm running of of good content to post. Flower earrings on vines In case you haven't noticed, I'm sprinkling this post with some new jewelry that I have available in my Etsy shop right now. I have had my views pick up lately, whi...

Celebrate Recovery Bible~ a book review

Image
Celebrate Recovery Bible: New International Version Celebrate Recovery was developed by Pastor John Baker, which is a program based on The Biblical principles of the “Beatitudes of Jesus Christ”. It mirrors much like a well known spiritually twelve step program, helping people to recover from their “hurts, hang ups, and habits”. The Celebrate Recovery program mirrors the spiritual twelve step program with its “Eight principles of recovery”; combining a few of the original twelve steps together. This publication is set up like this: A brief history of the Celebrate Recovery program, an introduction to the “Eight Principles”, then in-depth descriptions of each, with prayers for each principle and lessons that refer to particular Bible verses; Each touches on a topic of recovery, the complete NIV of the Bible with side notes that refer back to the Eight Principles, character studies on over 50 personalities in the Bible which relate to recovery issues, recovery stories of indiv...

My take on Artspan/Jewelspan

Image
Today's post will be on my experience having a web page on Artspan/Jewelspan. I found out about Artspan from one of the jewelry magazines that I read. First month free trail, sounded good to me. Here's what I thought about it. I stayed on for 6 months. Signed up for the monthly fee of $14.95. They do have wonderful templates to choose from, and ease of service. Very easy to navigate, e-commerce, and complete tutorials to help you set up your site. From your "control panel" you can add multiple photos, create galleries, create pages for your bio, events, email sign up and more. There is also a resource section, where you can find marketing articles, and better business practices. What I liked was the statistics section, complete with charts and graphs so that you can see how many visitors your site had per day, where they came from, most viewed pages, and how many were new visitors/or returning visitors. After 6 months I found that I only had 2 or 3 visitors...

After the show- the good and the bad

Image
Overhead view at the PAVA Cool Art show (The Coliseum) I originally was going to post a "are you ready for a rant?" But reconsidered, since the show wasn't a complete flop. I do have to admit that we had fewer people through the doors than previous years, and by Saturday's end, most jewelry artists that I talked to did not have a good day-myself included. But folks were buying large art pieces- which is confusing to me since the poor state of the economy, foreclosures, and people downsizing to smaller homes. The good news is that I had help setting up this year. And break down was not bad either. My back held out all weekend, and I'm feeling no pain. (I guess I could thank my new chiropractor for that!) But I have to give credit also to the best investment I've ever made for my business, in buying a Rock N Roller cart. This thing really saved my back and energy. ONE trip to the car. ONE trip held everything! (except my tent, which is on wheels its...
