I've opened the vault this week. You see I really needed to sort out and destash alot of my jewelry supplies that I am not using, and probably will not use. I feel a change a'comin'

I usually try to make some kind of sense when I post, not just some useless ramblings. But as for today, I need to journal. An open journal for the world to see? Yes, of course, why not? There's always the question, "How far can one go? How much is too much? Did I really say that?" Well, I'm going to try to get some much needed crap off my chest without naming names, pointing fingers or sharing too much information. It's for me, but maybe for you too. You might relate to some of what I have to say. It's happening again. I'm in the same predicament. I feel like my life is running me, not I'm running my life. This week I've had alot of stress. Long days. Exhaustion. So much so that I have nothing left to give. Not to anyone. I feel like my Etsy shops have suffered. I feel like I'm not putting enough time and effort into my jewelry business. (Now I would put 110% of my time if I did not have to work any other job.) I have had no desire to create a...

So much to explore

It's early in the morning here;sometimes I find that my mind is pretty clear with thoughts, so I wanted to share about my journey briefly before heading off for the day. I am making my way around the gulf coast of Florida. My quest to find sops and galleries to house my jewelry designs had led me to discover many more options that I had originally thought existed. Last week's trip yielded progress. I've acquired another shop to carry my jewelry; (yeah!) and have a couple of "juried" galleries that I'm submitting photos and bios to. Off to the post office today. I'm thinking of joining a couple of professional organizations ie: craft organizations/artist's groups. I think it would serve me well to learn more about marketing and being a handmade jewelry artisan, as well as getting involved with a like minded group of people to share ideas with and to have support. A mentor perhaps? Just my thoughts for this morning. Now I'm off to make a weekly pay ...

Quote of the day

I heard this quote this morning, and I thought I'd share it. "Life is like the game of Monopoly; at the end, everything goes back in the box". Think about it.

You asked for it, you got it

Classic Wisdom for the Professional Life edited by Bryan Curtis

What a great book of inspirational quotes by many famous people. This is a compilation of pages and pages of wisdom from authors, presidents, sports figures, entrepreneurs, cultural leaders, and the like. I really enjoyed reading this book. The quotes are not just inspirational to professional people in the business world, but also, they grasp the sense of good values, and positive traits that all persons should strive for in their lives. Some of the quotes make you think and ponder over them. The book is presented in a non-descriptive cover, subtle, yet attractive. It is an easy read, not overly stuffed with nonsense, or too much content. You could read a page a day for inspiration, or daily meditation. It is not a biblical book at all, in my opinion, just great reading. I would definitely recommend this book to all who wish to aspire to a greater level of success, whether it is in a business situation, or not. This would make a great gift book as well. Maybe a coffee table book even....

What I'm doing today

Just a quick update, since I haven't blogged since Wednesday. This morning I spent seeking out shops to take my jewelry to for sale. There is a nice affluent area that should be good for art jewelry and handmade items. Then I used Mapquest to coordinate my stops so that this could all be done is one day. These shops are 1 to 1 1/2 hours drive away. I'm hoping to get this done this week when I have a day off from my regular job. Here's what new in my Etsy shop . http://www.etsy.com/listing/10844958/sterling-silver-hoop-earrings-funky http://www.etsy.com/listing/47674314/squares-and-swirls-lampwork-wrapped Have a great rest of the weekend everyone!
