Etsy Blogger's monthly feature: Meet "The Fab Miss B"

Image
Meet " The Fab Miss B ". What a wonderfully refreshing exploration of shops! Becky, being a world traveler, has settled in the state of Hawaii. I just love this photo of her that she uses for her avatar in her main shop. The photo alone should give you an idea of her fun, whimsical spirit. In her first shop , you can find interesting vintage items. Take a look at these: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=35002532 http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=31942221 It's a honeycomb paprika shaker! Now let's go take a look at her other shop, " Becky Kazana-where everything is amazing ". You'll find Becky's own hand painted cards, hand crafted ornaments and more. Here's a quick look at some of my favs. What a fun way to spend some time browsing! If you enjoyed this, then take a stroll over to her blog and enjoy some more fun!

A Tribute to Rex

Image
We adopted Rex a year ago from the animal shelter with another kitty, since we had the room for 2 more cats. Rex was an old cat, not sure how old, as his history was unknown to the shelter. They said he was at least 10 years old. I first met Rex at the specialty hospital where I worked last year, when the shelter brought him in to see the "eye specialist" as he had come to the shelter with a ruptured eye. His right eye did need to be removed and the Doctor commented on how good a cat he was, since it had to be painful, and he never cried or was a difficult patient. He was a real sweet kitty. Rex returned a couple of weeks later to see a specialist in my department, (internal medicine), as the shelter had noticed that he had nasal polyps. Another anesthetic procedure for Rex. I did not assist with this particular procedure that day, but everyone was raving what a nice cat he was. He would wrap his front legs around your neck as you carried him. The biopsy came back benign, so ...

My weekend review

Image
Post Holizaar Deux . I had a good weekend doing this show in St. Petersburg. The first day we had alot of traffic, and I was making many sales, as were the other vendors. The Studio@620 was a great location, good space, a fun and funky, relaxed atmosphere. They also served lunch and beverages that you could purchase in the rear of the building. My booth: Now the only thing missing that I could use is a banner, which I will eventually get. Didn't think I would need it for this show as we were told that we could not hang anything on the walls, as the studio did have artist's work up in various spots. I got my little table lamps at Target when they were on sale for $5.00 each! A good deal, and I'm glad I got them. Here's Coralette of The Crafty Hag on Etsy. One of the promoters of this event. And here's Shannon of Boogiehead on Etsy; also involved in pulling this show together. The second day of the show started out slow. I mean, the first 2 hours were slow. I was ge...

My favorite holiday movie

Image
This month Etsy Blogger Team members were asked to talk about their favorite holiday movie or show. I have to say that my favorite holiday movie has been "Miracle on 34th Street ". The original, in black and white, the way it should be seen. It always gives me that warm, comforting, at home feeling. What a great nostalgia feel as well. Life in simpler times. This is so much about this movie that I enjoy and relate to. For one, Macy's Thanksgiving parade ; the true sign of the holiday season upon us. A family tradition; to watch the parade on T.V. And secondly, the message of the miracle: to believe, to have faith in something, whether you think it is childish, or could not possibly be "proven". It teaches us to be good to one another. One of my favorite scenes from the movie is when they are in court and the lawyer brings in the postal workers and they dump all the letters to Santa Claus on the judge's desk. And my other favorite scene, is at the end, when t...

Holizaar Deux, St. Petersburg Florida

I'm excited with anticipation about this weekend's arts and crafts event that I'll be taking part in. I'm off from work tomorrow, so it is my real final day to pack up my goods and prepare for the show. It is a 2 day indoor event in an artist studio in downtown St. Petersburg . I've heard good things about the show, and promotions and advertising has been many. If you are local, or will be in the area this weekend, please stop by, do some holiday shopping, (and get something for yourself too!) Meet local artisans and see some great handmade items. Here's some that you will find this weekend. The Crafty Hag: Handmade3D: Demigod Studio Natty Moss Bond: And more! Unique, handmade art! Buy handmade for the holidays! See you there!
