A little bit of this, and a little bit of that

Image
Welcome to the unemployment line, AGAIN! So I'm jobless again. That didn't last long did it? And I'm kind of glad too, because I really wasn't happy there. It seems to me that I just don't like the every day 9 to 5, or in my case, 7-2pm drag of working in an office, under flourecent lights, etc. I just don't fit in to the norm of society! I can really feel the difference too, not just physically, but mentally. I've been cranky for the last 2 weeks. No energy. Angry. I knew I needed some time in nature. This morning (in the heat) I took a walk around the ponds here. It felt so good to my soul. The green of the trees, the smell of the damp ground and woods, and the trickling of a little stream. This is telling me something! On the same subject, the other day while web surfing I found this: "laughter yoga". Have you ever heard of it? Take a look. If the video doesn't load, click on the above link. So I said to myself, "I've...

My new job is kicking my butt!

Image
Priorities. I've had to set priorities on just what I can accomplish in a day. Work, exercise, meditate, time with God, taking care of the home, managing my shops on-line, making new jewelry, marketing my jewelry, looking for local shops, just to name an average day. So, of course, I've neglected this blog and following the blogs that I like to read. I'm off today, from the new job that is, and let me tell you; it is so hard, physically to get back into things when you haven't worked for 8 months. I'm out of shape, gained weight(which I've mentioned to a few recently). And my chosen profession takes alot of physical capabilities. I'm on my feet the entire time, I have to lift heavy dogs, walk them, do laundry, clean hospital; these are just some of the physical tasks required in addition to my veterinary nursing skills that I must perform also. I am soooo tired an the end of the day. My feet hurt, ankles hurt, my back hurts, I usually have a headache. BUT, I...

Jennifer Louden talks about resourcing

Image
Authentic comfort come when you know you're connected to something larger than yourself and you allow yourself to be fed by that larger energy. Knowing how to do this will make a profound difference in your life. It has nothing to do with believing in a higher power, FYI. It does mean you realize you don't make the air you breath or the gravity that holds you to the earth. The Not Quite So Daily Dollop Resourcing = Drawing on Something Greater than Ourselves Right now, reading this, wouldn't it be energizing, utterly comforting and mood changing to let yourself draw from something than other than what you have to do, haven't done yet, or are sure you won't get to? This is where you may often find yourself unconsciously putting your attention – on what isn't here or isn't enough or isn't done yet. And thus, you may be trying to draw energy, sustenance and inspiration from what isn't here. Or you may draw energy from your own strengths, talents, and wi...

What remains

Well, I must admit, I did better (on my home show) yesterday than anticipated. A few more people came than expected, and I made a good number of sales! Unfortunately ,this is the only photo that turned out. The rest were all shaky, blurry, from my nervously awaiting hands, I guess. This shows the center of my table where I themed my southwest style items. I tried to group everything according to categories, and it did have a nice flow. Good practice for if, and when I decide to do a arts and crafts show of any kind. The Yart Sale was not that great though. And that seemed to be the general consensus of sellers on Etsy as I checked the forums today. Many are continuing their sales. I am one of them. I am continuing to offer 30% OFF ALL LISTED PRICES IN THE YART SALE SECTION of my shop until the end of June. Now these are great prices on jewelry pieces, so you might want to stock up on birthday, or holiday gifts now. So, for the rest of the summer, I've decided to offer a special eve...
