Crunch time....once again

Image
Well, it's that time of the year again, as I stress and strive to get enough jewelry made for my last 2 shows of the fall holiday season. I always get so stressed that I don't have enough inventory! And with starting a new job, plus still looking for another job, and life's everyday in's and out's, where do I find the time to create quality, new and exciting jewelry? I just don't know. But, as I've said in the past, sometimes I work better under pressure. Here's a few photos of new jewelry I've made. They may or may not make it into my Etsy shop on-line, so if there is something that you would like to own, or get for a gift, please leave me a comment with contact info, or contact me through my Etsy shop , or message me through Facebook . You know the drill. Now if you are in Florida, and want to come to some great arts and crafts shows, these are the next 2 where I'll be. BTW: these are my favorite indoor shows that I take part in! ...

Change is good

It's been one crazy, busy week. I have felt physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausted. I guess it started with last weekend's show. I did well overall, but still felt like this was not the right venue for me. Doing outdoor shows can be very tiring. Especially if you are traveling to a show, and doing it all by yourself. Which is my situation. Sure my mom came with me the first day, but she cannot lift or help put up a show tent, so I'm on my own. I started to question myself and my (physical) abilities. Talking with the general public for 7 or 8 hours a day can be exhausting too. What is the burn out time for doing shows, I ask? (picture of cruise ship I took as we drove over the Skyway Bridge ; not bad for a moving car!) So on Monday, I started training for a new part-time job. Training has been every night this week, plus still working my regular daytime job. I have not unpacked from the show, or have had the desire to make any jewelry, until yesterd...

Sarasota arts and crafts festival this weekend

Image
This is where I will be this weekend. I believe there is also a wonderful farmer's market located in the same area on Saturday. It should be a beautiful weekend here in Florida, so come on out to the 18th annual downtown Sarasota art and craft festival! I just read this funny blog post , by Lori Anderson. Very relevant for this weekend. Enjoy!

Leepa-Rattner artist's market wrap up

This weekend's show at the Leepa-Rattner Museum of art was fair, I'd say. We had a steady, but light flow of people on both days. The museum itself is quite large and beautiful. So it was nice to be indoors in this setting. My favorite piece in the museum "Watch dog" I did have a nice time, meeting other artists and talking with them. All the staff at the museum were very nice, and helpful. Here's a look at my table. I was up on a stage with another artist, and with a Picasso for our back drop. Looking across the room I was in from my point of view. Artist Frank Saso My friend and fellow PAVA member Joyce Curvin Overall, a good time. I enjoyed it. Please take a moment to explore the links to the museum and the other artists.
