Monday: a spill over from the weekend

Well, I never did get to the park to take photos yesterday. Instead I did more cleaning! At least my "spring cleaning" is done. I love the change of seasons; I put fresh summery colored sheets and quilt on the bed; redecorated my bathroom with my turtle theme and greens. I'm not sure if we'll get new furniture for the spare bedroom, as that discussion did not go as I had planned. But the room did get straightened up a bit. I am happy for that! Anyway, here's what's new in the shop as of today. http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=44583526 http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=44641063 And that's all I have for today!

I hate cleaning!

That should sum it all up for you, but I love to share all the rather interesting, if not boring details. What a way to spend a Saturday. Early a.m.; I actually did an aerobic workout! I'm going to try and keep a record of how many times a week I can manage to exercise, so that I can loose some of this weight that I've gained over the last couple of years. My beginning goal is to strive for 3 times a week. Mid-morning; meet with my friends as I usually do on Saturday mornings. Then, the nightmare begins. I have not thoroughly cleaned this house in some time. Call it spring cleaning if you will, I dusted, vacuumed, bleached around the windows. Let me explain this one. We tend to get mold. Of course if you ask our condo association, they will say that we don't have mold. Like I have spare time to bleach around windows often. I think the main source of the problem is around our bedroom window outside, as this is where standing water seems to accumulate. But, oh no, condo maint...

Yes, I'm forgetful

Image
I guess this also happens with age. I how found that I have been forgetting more lately. Due to stress, tiredness, or age? Who knows. I had promised to show off my new wire weaving techniques and new jewelry that I've been making and completely forgot! You know, sometimes life gets in the way. Anyhow, here's what new in my Etsy shop . http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=44070491 Sterling silver herring bone wrapped hoop earrings. These hoops are available with other beads/stones as well. I also made them with gunmetal beads, (real cute) but have not listed them yet. http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=44120503 This is an oxidized sterling silver fish tail wire design bracelet. A great look for every day wear. This is quite a technique to master, it takes 12 strands of wire plus the heavy gauge core wire, and steady hands to make. I cannot be distracted by anything when I make this style. I must be left alone and finish the whole thing in one complete sit...

Who's that Girl? Part 2

Image
Well, it's time to unveil the new ink. Part of my exploration to find myself, be who I am, and maybe shock the world just a little bit. And here she is! Some of you may remember a unicorn which sat above my cross arm band . Well, the unicorn has moved on to greener pastures! It was old, faded and thick lined. Now all my arm pieces are from the same artist, Caroline Evans . Although she calls New Jersey home, she travels all over the world in tattoo conventions. She will be in Ontario, California on the 30th at Rock the Ink . So, if you're in the California area and want to check it out, stop by Caroline's booth and say hi! Isn't this a great way to start the week?

Who's that girl?

Happy 45th birthday to me. As I sit and ponder life and it's meaning, I feel the pain in my aching back, my plantar fasciitis and my weight gain from last year's 10 months of unemployment. I ask myself, "What's it all about?" Feeling the urge for something new, a change in my routine, some excitement; and yet wanting to have more time to recline, relax, and read a good book. Crazy? You might say. I conclude this to be my 45th year on this earth as a mid-life crisis . And it's been a long time coming. The boredom at my job, questioning by career choices, looking to do something new, inspired, exciting. But also a slight longing for my youth; wanting to be outrageous, wild, unique, different, on the edge. The edge of what? I'm already on the edge of sanity. Longing, hoping for that inner peace that one achieves on a spiritual inner journey of the heart and soul. Which, by the way, I've been searching for many years. So, I went to my previous hairdresser,...

And just when I had something to say......

I just took a couple of pics with my new camera, wanting to start the week off with a nice fun blog post. And as luck would have it, the battery ran out. Time to set it on the charger. This new camera has a weird battery "pack" with its own plug in charger, and to have a back up battery would cost another , about $50.00. Not in the budget right now. I wanted to talk about turning 45, as my birthday just passed a few weeks ago. I have a couple of photos to post with that, so put that on the back burner. But, I must ask, do women go through a mid-life crisis ? I must explore this possibility some more. Currently, I'm on a wire wrapping extravaganza! There will be more braided and fish tail style bracelets coming soon. Also, I went back to explore the " herring bone " weave technique. I have not done this for a while, but felt the urge to wrap. If you scroll all the way down on the right side of my blog, you will see some hoop earrings in this style. They will be h...
