Sleet and ice in Florida? Yup! That's what I woke up to this morning and actually had to dig out my old ice scraper for my car. Can't believe I still am hanging on to the old thing. What a good day to stay in, blog, and create! So, let me introduce you to Erika, of "Nico Designs ". Currently, a SAHM with 2 babies, she claims to "sew for sanity". She makes cute tote bags and accessories. Here's one I chose as my favorite; being still in the holiday mode: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=30965517 I took a look over at her blog to discover lots of info, sewing tutorials, recipes and more. Enjoy your Sunday, wherever you are in the world!

Lack of motivation or time?

As I sit and enjoy my Chinese green tea in my cast iron tea pot, I remind myself; "enjoy it, `cause I might not get much time to enjoy later." I say this because I feel like my life has been nothing but running, running, running. I tried to slow down over the holidays, relax, spend some quite time with myself and read a book. Well, I did finish that book, and really, really enjoyed doing nothing else. Do I have any new jewelry pieces to share with you? No. But I did treat myself to purchasing some new beads, for hope of motivating myself to get moving and creating new jewelry. In order to free up some time, I had to quit a couple of the groups that I belonged to; making the most productive ones priority. I cannot do everything! I have recently discovered. I have so, so many ideas to create new things. Many which won't come to fruition unless, 1) I find the time to sit down and actually create them, 2)I sell some of my jewelry already waiting for new homes, 3)I become inde...

"Making a living without a job"~a book review

Image
In her book, Barbara J. Winter writes about "winning ways for creating work that you love", how to be your own boss, and explore your entrepreneurial dreams and ideas. I found this book a timely read even though it's original printing was in 1993. Especially in this economical struggle for many, the author shares not only her own experiences with entrepreneurial business ventures;but other's who have gone on their way to being their own bosses. She writes, "Big businesses have lost their cachet, as well as the belief that they were the foundation of our society's economic health." I would recommend this book to anyone who is any field, already a small business owner, whether beginner or seasoned, and also to anyone who may find themselves out of work, downsized, or just plain unhappy working for someone else. This book if filled with ideas on how to brainstorm, marketing, creating "multiple profit centers", finding your passion, doing your home...

Look what I got for Christmas

NEW TOOLS! I love getting and using new jewelry making tools! Benn got these for me, (with help from a list from "Santa"). I got a new texturizing hammer. Just love those hammers! Very therapeutic. An some new stamping tools. And a great new pair of Lindstrom pliers . Wow, you can really feel the difference when using an expensive tool over a cheap one. I am so glad that I finally got these. An assortment of metal beads. These are going to look great in some new designs. I really like the assortment of colors: pure copper, nickel, dark copper, gunmetal, just to name a few. Surprisingly, these are not cheap. A good assortment of colors and sizes can be found at Fusion Beads . And finally, A new bathroom! Yeah! I am so glad that project is finally complete and I can have my bathroom back! In other things, today I just listed a new pair of earrings called, "Dark Lady" and will be adding a few new things this week. BTW: I'm offering THRU JAN. 1ST, TAKE 25 % OFF ORDE...
