Picture of the Week- Angels


It always seems to me that around this time of the year that I reminisce about angels. There was a time in my life when I did some soul searching and really got curious about angels. So I started researching, reading books, watching for anything I could find on angels. This was around 1994. I have had some "angelic experiences" or "messages from God" if you will. The message here is to believe. This photo above is by Catherine Andrews. I'd love to hear of any stores or experiences that you may have with angels, God, the unknown.

I, too, know that angels are among us. I know firsthand. There's not nearly enough time, nor space to give you my long, drawn-out story, but someday soon I might post it on my blog....

There's a book by a woman I know named Kim O'Neill, the title escapes me, and its a great book about angels as well.

I stumbled on to your blog and had to answer the call for angel sightings. My angels didn't have wings or haloes and they looked like everyone else, but it was the way they treated me on two or three separate ocassions that clued me into their nature.

I was traveling alone in a foreign country, doing research and near exhaustion. I was taken in, fed and cared for and then sent out to do my work. So much could have happened to me and I could have been in great danger, but I knew I was protected.

Eighteen years later, I am still touched by the generosity of these caring souls.

Post July 4th workout and update

I took off a week from running since my legs were hurting everyday, all day. So it was a bit challenging to start back up this week. I'm so greatful for the cooler mornings that we've been having. Today: 1.77 miles Weight: let's not talk about it; I'm on a see-saw right now. Eating fairly well. Staying away from sweets. Bought a new swimsuit yesterday, so can start swimming when it is too hot to run or walk. Not your traditional swimwear; I wanted something to exercise and do laps in. It's more for cross-training. Classic Wisdom for the Professional Life edited by Bryan Curtis

What a great book of inspirational quotes by many famous people. This is a compilation of pages and pages of wisdom from authors, presidents, sports figures, entrepreneurs, cultural leaders, and the like. I really enjoyed reading this book. The quotes are not just inspirational to professional people in the business world, but also, they grasp the sense of good values, and positive traits that all persons should strive for in their lives. Some of the quotes make you think and ponder over them. The book is presented in a non-descriptive cover, subtle, yet attractive. It is an easy read, not overly stuffed with nonsense, or too much content. You could read a page a day for inspiration, or daily meditation. It is not a biblical book at all, in my opinion, just great reading. I would definitely recommend this book to all who wish to aspire to a greater level of success, whether it is in a business situation, or not. This would make a great gift book as well. Maybe a coffee table book even.
