Birchbox review-January 2015 box

My favorite product in this month's box is the Naobay body radiance lotion.
It goes on as a light moisturizer, but does have a lasting quality to it. Smells like light citrus. Has olive and avocado oils in it, but not greasy at all.

A sheer tint for lips and cheeks. It's a gel based product. On my lips it looked like I just ate a cherry popsickle,(did not like), but it gave a nice healthy glow to the cheeks. This is a good trial size to carry with you.

~The Davines Ol/oil absolute and conditioner (I got 2 packs of conditioner)
I thought the conditioner was nothing special, but I did like the results I got with the oil. I have naturally curly, dry hair and do use oil products regularly. At first the Davines oil seemed too thin, I did not think it would do anything, but my hair was smoother, and my curls stayed in place. The product claims to "prevent frizz, and strengthen hair from breakage". The only ingredient I recognize is sunflower seed oil. Full size for 4 oz. is $41.00. I don't think its worth the price.

While I don't wear perfume, this one has a strong scent of tuberose, and it lasts! The fragrance stayed with me even after I tried to wash it off.

I did not try the Dr. Jart+ beauty balm. Maybe I'll review later.
BTW: This is a way better box than the last 2 that I received from Birchbox.

Post July 4th workout and update

I took off a week from running since my legs were hurting everyday, all day. So it was a bit challenging to start back up this week. I'm so greatful for the cooler mornings that we've been having. Today: 1.77 miles Weight: let's not talk about it; I'm on a see-saw right now. Eating fairly well. Staying away from sweets. Bought a new swimsuit yesterday, so can start swimming when it is too hot to run or walk. Not your traditional swimwear; I wanted something to exercise and do laps in. It's more for cross-training. I tried some new snacks in this months box, so get ready for some chocolate! ~dutch cocoa sun-crunch These are cocoa flavored sunflower and sesame seed clusters. Medium strength taste wise on the chocolate, but I love the saltiness of the sun-crunch itself. 6 grams of protein per serving; that's pretty good too! ~dark cocoa almonds~ If you like dark chocolate, you'll love these! 4 grams of protein on these per serving. ~dark chocolate berry trail mix Out of the other trail mixes that I've tried from Naturebox , this one is my favorite. It's a good mix of dried fruits and nuts, including cranberries and cherries, cashews and pistachios, plus tiny chips of dark chocolate that gives it that flavor punch. 4 grams of protein ~flax fortune coins~ Taste just like flattened fortune cookies with the added benefit of flax seeds. Flax seeds are full of omega-3's, and are said to be good for helping reduce your risk of heart disease, cancer, stroke, and diabetes

Classic Wisdom for the Professional Life edited by Bryan Curtis

What a great book of inspirational quotes by many famous people. This is a compilation of pages and pages of wisdom from authors, presidents, sports figures, entrepreneurs, cultural leaders, and the like. I really enjoyed reading this book. The quotes are not just inspirational to professional people in the business world, but also, they grasp the sense of good values, and positive traits that all persons should strive for in their lives. Some of the quotes make you think and ponder over them. The book is presented in a non-descriptive cover, subtle, yet attractive. It is an easy read, not overly stuffed with nonsense, or too much content. You could read a page a day for inspiration, or daily meditation. It is not a biblical book at all, in my opinion, just great reading. I would definitely recommend this book to all who wish to aspire to a greater level of success, whether it is in a business situation, or not. This would make a great gift book as well. Maybe a coffee table book even.
