Leepa-Rattner artist's market wrap up

Image
This weekend's show at the Leepa-Rattner Museum of art was fair, I'd say. We had a steady, but light flow of people on both days. The museum itself is quite large and beautiful. So it was nice to be indoors in this setting. My favorite piece in the museum "Watch dog" I did have a nice time, meeting other artists and talking with them. All the staff at the museum were very nice, and helpful. Here's a look at my table. I was up on a stage with another artist, and with a Picasso for our back drop. Looking across the room I was in from my point of view. Artist Frank Saso My friend and fellow PAVA member Joyce Curvin Overall, a good time. I enjoyed it. Please take a moment to explore the links to the museum and the other artists.

Lifted by Angels~ a book review

Image
Lifted by Angels~by Joel J. Miller A literary account of angels that appear in biblical text that reads much like a seminary text book. The author uses reference from early Christian writings and text such as the books of Tobit and the Wisdom of Solomon. He quotes the Old Testament, and different translations of Septuagint and Masoretic text. Angels are described as they appear during certain events in the Bible, such as angels falling from grace, angels that helped Christ, and angels as they appear in the Book of Revelation. Was it interesting? Maybe, if you are a Biblical scholar, but for a general reader, I must say no. I found it quite boring. Maybe it was too complicated and over my head, so I can’t say that some may not find it of value to read. For the average reader, I cannot recommend. I received this book from BookSneeze in exchange for my honest review.

Our mini vacation at Disney World

Image
A much needed break from my every day life. Enjoyable, but still too hot here. I wanted to share some photos that I took. Now I didn't want to take the usual "family vacation- stand and pose photos", plus I have so many photos from Disney, that I wanted something different this time. Plus, I wanted to play with nighttime photos, as my camera has all these neat settings, and I'm so used to taking pics of jewelry, with the macro. Apples, anyone? Hall of Presidents-complete with President Obama Epcot at night fall from across the lake Inside The Living Seas- look, no lines! Epcot's Italy Christmas ornaments I'm getting ready for a show this weekend at the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art , in Tarpon Springs. So if you're local, stop by and check out local artists. Sat. 10-5pm Sun. 1-5pm

Sinner's Creed~ a book review

Image
Scott Stapp~ SINNER’S CREED~ A Memoir A true life story of spirituality, recovery, and the crazy world of rock and roll, as told and lived by Scott Stapp, lead singer of the band Creed. One man’s journey from his childhood, living under the rule of a religious fanatic/hypocrite father figure to major stardom, wealth, superstar status, and all that goes along with it. Scott is honest and open as he shares his upbringing, as a youth, teen years, and college days where there is much turmoil within his family. He shares how he met the guys, who would become members of Creed. He takes the reader on a wild ride into the sometimes dark and overwhelming world of rock and roll and the toll it can take on one’s personal life. Struggling with his own personal beliefs as a Christian along the way, he struggles inside; which leads to drug and alcohol abuse, but there is light and the end of the tunnel. The book offers a section of personal photos, as well as concert photos; giving a brief...
