Even Glow Serum with 20% vitamin C

Image
I received this antioxidant treatment from the manufacturer, in exchange for my honest opinion. This treatment serum contains 98% natural ingredients such as: organic rose hip oil, organic sea buckthorn oil (for moisture), plant stem cells to help improve the skin's appearance, and detoxifies the skin, and green tea extract, that is said to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Plus, a "new generation Vitamin C", which gives radiance and brightens the skin. The product claims to aid in hydration; help reduce wrinkles and fine lines; vanish dark spots, and boosts collagen production. It claims to do a lot, I know. I found the serum to be rich in consistency, with a light citrus scent. The serum goes on nice and smooth and absorbs quickly into the skin. I applied about half a dropper full over my face and neck, then followed with my night moisturizer. Directions say to apply once daily. I have faithfully used this product for 3 weeks now, and cannot...

Best Kept Rx box for summer

Image
In case you're not familiar with this subscription box, Your best kept Rx is a seasonal (every 3 months) box of beauty and lifestyle products. You'll get 5 full sized items hand picked by their beauty and lifestyle experts at the price of $49.00 per box. This is what I got in the summer box: BlokRok sunscreen and lotion applicator~ Fill it with lotion for portable on the go clean hands application. Mission Essentials Sun Soothe aloe and mint spray~ good for sun burn, or just spray on face to refresh. I'm keeping mine in the refrigerator. Beekeepers Propolis~ Not familiar with this product. It is a supplement that is suppose to be good for immune support, with antioxidant properties, can aid with inflammation and healing. Note that this product is from Canada, and is not regulated by U.S. FDA. Zum face walnut sugar scrub~ I have used Zum soaps before and like them, so I'm looking forward to trying out this facial scrub. It smells great with rosemary and m...

Birchbox for June~Still hanging on

Image
Just when I was about to cancel my subscription, I got a box that I liked! What I've tested so far: Comptoir Sud Pacifique (fragrance): Even though I don't usually wear fragrance, I do like this one. It's a heavy, long lasting vanilla. Dr.Jart+ ceramidin cream: This cream has a nice moisture coverage to it and a light, clean, fresh scent. Probably not a big enough sample size to determine any real benefits the cream claims, but I'm enjoying using it. Marcelle waterproof eyeliner: Lots of talk about this brand this month. I received a mini sized pencil is a dark plum color, which I will wear. It is NOT smudge proof, and I can't agree with the "waterproof" claims. Vasanti brighten-up enzymatic face rejuvenator: This is a micro-bead cleanser that has a "fizzy-like" enzymatic effect when you add water to rinse it off. It leaves the skin clean and refreshed. Nice smooth application, easy on the skin. Sarahpotempa hair clip: Not crazy ...

The Case of the Sin City Sister by Lynne Hinton~ a book review

Image
What’s a nun to do when her biological sister turns up missing? She goes to Vegas. Eve Divine, a nun who had taken a “leave of absence” from her home at the mission, currently assists her father at his private detective agency, when her biological sister, Dorisanne turns up missing. Dorisanne lives and works in Las Vegas, Nevada, and is married to a shifty man, who just might be in some kind of trouble legally, and financially. When the couple disappears, and no one seems to have any clues as to the couple’s whereabouts, is when “Sister” Eve and friend/police officer, Daniel, decide to take a road trip to Vegas and look for clues, and find Dorisanne. Searching for clues at casinos, and Dorisanne’s apartment complex, little, if no answers turn up, but the plot thickens as Eve and Daniel discover that they’re being followed. I enjoyed the plot and characters in this cozy mystery. Sister Eve is an interesting character herself. Although rather sheltered from life’s darker side o...

New Beauty Test Tube Review~ Part 2

Image
After another week of tying out the rest of the products I got in my Beauty Test Tube , here are the results. This is suppose to be a temporary fix to sagging eye lids. They claim to "erase the signs of aging" and provide an "instant eye lift" without surgery. These medical grade "strips" are to be applied to the eyes? Yeah, that's as far as I got. I can't imagine being so vain that I would buy these things, and apply them every day. And what happens on days that you don't use them. Come on, I don't want to look like Joan Rivers! I'll just age gracefully, thank you. Glo-therapeutics-gentle cream cleanser:This cleanser contains natural ingredients and antioxidants; cleanses the skin gently and even removes eye make-up. No fragrance, no burning of the eyes. This product I'm really enjoying. The size that came in the test tube was a 2 oz. pump. I use 4 pumps for my entire face and neck. Full size product is 6.7 oz. and ...
