I wanted to clear up any confusion with my jewelry giveaway. The ad is posted on ETSY GIVEWAYS here: http://etsygiveaways.blogspot.com/2009/02/green-moon-earrings-ends-0228.html Which should direct you to visit my ETSY SHOP and comment on your favorite item. You can comment here on my blog or go back to the ETSY GIVEAWAYS site and comment there. Either way your comment will count. Thanks for entering and playing along! So, as promised I wanted to show you the PMC pendant and charm after oxidation. And this was before: You might not see much difference, but there is a slightly darker tone that the liver of sulfur has picked up in the details of the textures in the pendant and charm. Here's some new items that I finished over the weekend. And here's an alternate view using my new box: And here's my "labor of love". The piece that I've been working on for nearly a month, due to the fact that I ran out of bead caps and had to wait for them to arrive in the mail. I...

Cool Stuff and Giveaways!

Image
Good afternoon all! I have FINALLY finished some new jewelry pieces and they are in the tumbler as we speak! First of all, I'm having a jewelry giveaway! It is for these earrings: They are lampwork disc beads made by "Beadabundant" with Swarovski crystals and coiled non-tarnish silver wire. You can go to this link for the giveaway details: http://etsygiveaways.blogspot.com/2009/02/green-moon-earrings-ends-0228.html The contest will end on the last day of this month. On to some cool findings! Last week, when I was out shopping for supplies for the weekend workshop, I happened to find a couple of cool items at Michael's crafts. Check out this wooden box. It's intended purpose is to store coils of wire (use number 1), but to me it looked like a display that I saw a lampwork artist using to display her beads at a show. (Use number 2) And, what I really thought about using it for; to photograph earrings (Use number3). It's a white box with 2 bars that I can dangle ...

Up coming Events part 2

January 29, 2009--A day of wasted time. My day started out good. I colored my hair early this morning, went to check out a farmers/fresh market. Got some good produce and stuff, but not a good place to showcase my jewelry. This is where the "not so fun" of my day began. I have a list of items that I needed to buy for this weekend's PMC WORKSHOP that I'm attending, but first wanted to check out on line where I should go to purchase them at good prices, you know to save time, well my computer got funky and I spent about 1/2 an hour trying to reboot and got nowhere. So venture out I went. I had to go to 5 different stores to locate what I needed, then spent 3 HOURS in my car stuck in traffic! There was some sort of accident (the police and fire trucks had the road closed) and may I mention ONE BLOCK FROM WHERE I LIVE. The only other way to get to our condo is to go back around to the highway and circle all around, you see we live on one side of a lake and there is no way...

I feel the urge

Image
I feel the urge to blog today, reach out, connect with others via the Internet. I didn't post much last week, even though I did make a few new pieces of jewelry, I never got around to posting them in my Etsy shop. What I have been doing though is reading others' blogs and commenting on them! So, I'm overdue for a post myself. Here's what I've been doing (other than reading blogs) this week: I did some research about getting a paypal/buy it now button on my blog. I had the intention of posting my new items here first, before adding them to my Etsy shop, as a convenience to customers, and to offer a percentage off if bought directly from my blog. Well, my initial idea was good, but when I checked it out, it seemed to be more of a pain, and a lot more computer work for me to do than it is worth. For one thing, I would have to list each item individually, and create a paypal button for EACH item I list. Which means every week when I post new items, each item would have ...

Do you like free stuff?

Hello everyone! Just a short post today to let everyone know what I'm up to. What I did today: I walked early this morning and actually was accompanied by my husband, Benn. Now it's getting cooler here, and this morning was real nice. As we walked around the ponds, you could see the mist drifting upwards as the sun was coming up. Nice beginning to my day! Had to run a couple of errands, get pants tailored, stopped at my favorite store, (Macy's) if you're wondering. They are always having a sale. I saw some nice scarves that I was thinking about for display ideas for when I do an upcoming arts and crafts event. But I didn't buy them; came home thought about it checked Etsy for scarves. But, for the money I think I'll go back to Macy's tomorrow and get them. Then I treated myself to some new earrings from Lisa at LISA'SLOVLIES.ETSY.COM and she's got a giveaway too! And now I'm sipping some jasmine green tea out of my favorite cast iron pot and conn...
