BeautyDNA and Phyto Paris-Not a good match this month

Image
In case you don't know, or haven't been following me lately, BeautyDNA is a monthly subscription service that really does a good match to your beauty needs, although this month, not so much. This month I recieved Phyto Paris "Secret de Nuit Intense Hydration Night Cream". It is a hair mask. That you apply at night. To wet hair. It is suppose to work its magic overnight. First of all, I had a lot of problems right off the bat. I don't like to go to bed with wet hair and wake up looking like a brillo pad! Secondly, what does the nighttime have to do with the product's effectiveness to work? Just what kind of nocturnal properties can a product have? The product is a botanical line that features ingredients such as: shea butter and sunflower seed oil, and quite honestly, a bunch of other stuff I can't spell or pronounce, (chemicals, likely). The consistency of the product is more like a "milk" than a mask or a cream for that matter. A rath...

Drunk Elephant "JuJu bar"

Image
This is a new skincare line that I received in my BeautyDNA box this month. I've used this facial soap about 3 weeks now and I'm ready to review. Drunk Elephant skincare believes in natural ingredients that work, while leaving out those chemical ingredients that don't. The JuJu Bar is a daily deep cleansing, exfoliating and healing bar that gently removes dead skin cells and helps to improve the skins overall appearance and radiance. It's main acting ingredients are: thermal mud, 20% glycerin, and bamboo powder. Directions say to lather up the bar and apply it directly to the face. This will give you quite an abrasive exfoliation effect. If this is too much, just lather up in your hands and apply to the face. It feels like a gritty sand and has a rich lather. It is also fragrance free. It does leave the skin feeling clean, but not dry at all. I do like this bar, the only improvement, could be if they added an essential oil for true fragrance. This is a...

Beauty DNA~ a monthly subscription service

Image
And one that is slowly becoming my favorite. Beauty DNA customizes a beauty match with a report for you based on your answers to their thorough questionaire. For $25.00 a month, you'll receive a full size product based on your beauty concerns. You can read more about the process and their brands here . This month I even got a bonus product! The "JuJu bar" is a day time facial soap said to treat large pores, dull skin and skin that lacks radiance. All things that I mentioned in my profile. Never heard of this brand, (Drunk Elephant) but I am looking forward to trying out this product. It retails for $32.00! My bonus product is a hair product, by Briogeo, "Be gentle, Be kind". It's a Co-wash. It's so funny that I got this, after raving about the Macadamia co-wash, but also because I put this one on my Sephora wish list! This one retails for $20.00, so you see that you do get more than your money's worth with this subscription service. I w...

BeautyDNA: A new subscription service

Image
A newer beauty subscription service is "BeautyDNA" . It claims to be a REAL personalized service, matching you with full size products that do address your beauty concerns. This is a monthly service that costs $25.00. You fill out a rather detailed profile, which can take 10-15 minutes. Once this is done, they will let you know when to expect your shipment. You'll get a personalized "report" customized to your needs. It not only explains the product really well, but also explains why they chose this particular product for you. On the back page is your receipt and invoice number; where is shows you the actual full price of your item, as well as what you paid. This serum retails for $39.95. I got this "grande- face lift finishing serum". It claims to instantly smooth fine lines and lift and tightens the skin. It is said to treat large pores (which I have), and is correct for my skin type. The formula contains collegen, aloe, vit. A, C, and ...
