This week's treasury find was created by Nicole of Treelovergirl . She calls this one, "The Copper Has It". And I just love it! I do love working in copper, and enjoyed being featured in this treasury with so many other cool copper finds. Nicole is one part of a husband and wife team of creative artists. I have not attempted to actually sew anything for a few years now, but I wanted to make a fitted table cloth for a tall, podium-like table that I use in arts and crafts shows. So, I dug out the old Singer, (I'm surprised it still worked) and I gave it a try. Here it is with 2 sides done. And complete. Not as tight as I wanted it, but it will do. I used some of the extra material to make small cloths that I can use to cover risers on my big table. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Since I'm always on a strict budget, I like to go to the thrift stores looking for anything that I can repurpose for display ideas, or anything else useful for my jewelry business. I went to the Goodwill super store, and found these: This acrylic CD holder (I think) will make a perfect riser for one of my table lamps. Pantone , a leading authority on color offers all sorts of ways to express color. And since summer is already upon us, I thought I'd show Pantone's fall 2012 color collection. Here's a look at my latest creations using sterling silver and copper, creating heat patinas. What fabulous colors I got using a torch! You can see the speckled effect on the domed ovals above. This pair features domed copper discs and hand forged bar links above (an interesting shape for the sterling) Long bars with riveted textured small discs. Minimalist hoops. Fine details in hot pink and golden hues. Hand cut ovals with a pretty floral bead dangle and garnet CZ drop. These are all lacquer finished to seal the colors. I have not yet posted them in my Etsy shop ; if there is a pair that you would like, please let me know; leave a comment with contact info, and I'll get back to you before I list them in my shop .
