This book offers 100 days of prayer beginning with a Bible passage, followed by the author’s explanation and interpretation of the passage. After each day’s reading, there is blank space for one’s thoughts, meditations, or for journaling. It is an easy read, not too deep, but thought provoking and encouraging. It is written in a cohesive way, for instance, beginning with an opening prayer, and a quick guide on how to use the book. Each day’s topic has a different theme, yet are all connected in some way. For example, day one, entitled, “in the beginning” quotes from the book of Genesis and the passages continue on this way. I like how each day has a different topic, making this a good book to go to at any time if you are struggling with an issue, you can easily go to the table of contents and pick with topic fits for you and re-read it. So,it's official. I decided to quit one of my 2 P/T jobs, keeping my main one in veterinary medicine. It just became way too much to keep up with, especially with the fall show season coming, and I really need to work on creating enough inventory for all the shows I will be doing. BTW: I got into another show; found out this week, so November and December will prove to be busy months for me. Yesterday I went to my first PAVA meeting. I'm glad I joined this artist's group and wish I would have done it sooner. It's a great way to get involved with other artists, support and promote each other, and learn more about being an artist, PR, get news on events and shows, etc. I think I will learn much and hopefully grow my business as well. I think from now on, I should only apply to juried, fine art shows. I must have said this to myself a dozen or so times last night. I did a show sponsored by a local chamber of commerce. It was not an inexpensive show either. It was a "girl's night out" plus weekend on the beach for the guests. I thought it would be a good opportunity, as it was advertised well, and I expected it to be only one type of each vendor, plus it sounded like it was a bit upscale. A good place to sell my hand crafted jewelry, I thought. It did not turn out that way. This was not the right venue for my artisan jewelry, and I don't think they had 30 people throught the door. Quite a disappointment to all. I thought about titling this post as, "The most expensive meal I've ever had", since they had a free pasta station, so I got to eat a small plate of bow ties and a piece of cake.
