Etsy Blogger's Features....

Image
Well here it is, getting late in the month and I must post about Etsy Blogger's featured blogger for the month of November. Guess what? It is me! I was much surprised to find out that is was me and I'm really enjoying reading all the features on our other teammates blogs. Anyway, to keep it brief, I decided to show you just 2 of my most favorite jewelry pieces that I've made, that are available in my Etsy shop . Cocoa Sunrise earrings These are my favorite earrings. I just love the etched lampwork beads. So soft, and southwestern looking. If they don't sell, I'll be tempted to keep them for myself! Sterling silver bracelet with turtle Not only do I like turtles, but finding these artisan made lampwork beads was quite a find! I cannot tell you enough about how beautiful these are! I have never seen lampwork beads quite like this before; they look like natural gemstones, pulled from the earth. So much pretty bright and shiny silver and alot of Hill Tribe silver as wel...

I did NOT cook

Happy Thanksgiving! No, I did not cook. We took my mom out to a nice dinner over on Clearwater Beach, that was recommended by a friend. We had traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings and enough to take home leftovers for another meal. And what a beautiful view we had! So now that you're probably off to do your holiday shopping, stop by my Etsy shop , and get some great deals on gifts or treat yourself! 20% off all purchases of $45.00 or more, plus free shipping on all purchases! All weekend long! I'm also offering free holiday gift wrap to make your gift giving a little easier. Enjoy!

Here they are; my new listings in my Etsy shop, up and ready for new homes! I know many of you were waiting to see the final results of the purple charm bracelet, so let's start with that. Purple beaded dragonfly charm bracelet A truly one of a kind wire art bracelet! There is so much silver in this bracelet! And I used a lot of Hill Tribe silver, so you're getting 98% pure silver. I just realized that with this piece, you're getting the hand work of 3 different artisans. Jerri Kennerly, the glass artist who made the lampwork beads, the Hill Tribe people of Thailand, who made the charms and many of the intricate silver beads, and myself; using my own wire working skills and torch skills in making my own head pins. Totem earrings These have polymer clay "donut" discs and my own ear wires and hand stamped sterling silver. Riveted pendant necklace. Purple hollow bead This necklace is nice if you like a simpler piece. All sterling silver, handmade riveted and stamped ...

Etsy Bloggers November blog carnival~Talk about your inspirations!

Image
This issue of Etsy Bloggers blog carnival asks us to talk about our inspirations. Share what item are you working on? What is your inspiration for this piece? I chose this charm bracelet currently in the works. Nearly finished actually. This bracelet started out focusing on the beautiful borosilicate glass beads. Pretty purple colors. These are a larger bead, so I knew that I had some Hill Tribe silver bead caps that would work perfectly. I usually draw up a design, to get an idea of what I want to make, as you see here in the photo. Then I try to find coordinating colored beads or gemstones that will go with the glass beads or a theme that I may have come up with for the piece. I lay out various beads in front of me to get a visual of what to use. Since I already chose some Thai silver bead caps, I had some dragonfly and butterfly charms that I thought would really make this a nice themed springtime or fantasy bracelet. I also found in my drawer of clasps, a dragonfly clasp, just perf...

What a nice Sunday!~ post show update

Image
It was a good show last Sunday. I did not think it would be though. The early morning hours, I had no one that wanted to stop and look. Plus I was not in the best of moods. I was cranky, a little stressed and nervous and bossy! My Mom and husband helped as I dictated orders of how I wanted the tent set up, etc. (They probably wished they had stayed home in bed!) About 9:00 a.m., and after eating something, I at least got more comfortable and started to relax a bit. And then ran my mouth all day, talking to everyone who walked by and the sales followed! I sold most of all my new pieces that I haven't even really taken photos of or posted in my Etsy shop . My booth, complete with new banner The pier behind my booth~ we were right along the water My Mom taking a photo of me, in the booth I wanted to take more photos of ladies trying on my necklaces, and a lady who purchased an anklet and chose to wear it right then, but it was too busy! (which was good!) Now I really have to buckle do...

much needed rest and self-care

Image
I didn't have to work too many hours this week, which allowed me time to "take care of myself". I believe self-care and nourishment is just as important as working, eating right, and getting enough sleep. So on Wednesday, I took advantage of my time, got up early as I usually do, and did yoga, meditation, and some spiritual reading. I took time for myself, connected with some friends and enjoyed myself. I've been putting some last minute touches to some earrings, in hopes of having more jewelry to take to the Christmas Under the Oaks show this Sunday. I do have about 10 new pieces complete; mostly earrings, and a few necklaces- pendant necklaces with lampwork glass beads and rivets. I was hoping to take a few photos to show, but time is not working with me. If they don't sell this weekend ,I'll be taking pictures and adding them to my Etsy shop next week. I am truly grateful to have the time off this week, although I could have used the cash. Well, with the ho...
