They're back!

Image
ANKLETS, that is! These were a popular item in my Etsy shop last year; sold all out, and haven't gotten around to making more. I originally wanted to get these done by June-ish, our traditional beginning of summer here in the U.S. At least I'm not too late! Below are the few already available in my shop, more to be added tomorrow! Get them while it's hot, um, while it's hot? http://www.etsy.com/listing/52230007/anklet-peridot-and-carnelian http://www.etsy.com/listing/52219744/tourmaline-and-thai-silver-anklet http://www.etsy.com/listing/52242598/celtic-anklet-malachite-and-moonstone

A quick update

Image
Well, I guess I'm starting on those goals I listed a while back in a post. I have decided to try to do at least 3 arts and crafts shows this fall. Today, (after many hours and days of research on-line and via the phone to pick out ones I liked), I've found 4 or 5, applied to 3 of them and sent in 2 applications today. This took all day. One app. was quite long, plus they wanted photos of my work, my booth and me creating stuff! So I had to make some quick photos, ran out to get them developed, came home and realized that I needed more photos, so out again to the store! I can't believe how long it takes me to do stuff sometimes! I have a number of new pieces of jewelry made, but have not yet priced or photographed them, so I guess that will wait for another day!

This will make you laugh

The other day was a work day for me. Got up, got ready, went to work, worked a long 10 hour day, and came home. After dinner, I decided to take a shower. While undressing, what do you think I found in my bra? Now some of you may guess; cat hair, a nail, (or worse) since I do work with cats, but no, pressed into my right breast was a long piece of steel shot ! And I was unaware of this all day! How it got there, I don't have any idea. I did not spill any. I do not rinse my jewelry where I do laundry. And I certainly do not wash my bras with my tumbling supplies! What's the strangest thing you've ever found in your bra? Dare to share?

Here's a couple of my favorites: Her blog , is another place to find her. She features different types of products daily that are available from other shops on Etsy . A shopping guide, if you please. Getting momentum

I finally have some new jewelry to share with you! You know, it's hard creating on demand, as I sometimes feel. With working a day job, by time I get home, I'm too tired, feel like I'm brain dead and have nothing left to give. (oh, how wonderful it would be if I could make this my full time job and have all the creative time in the world!) ~I must be careful what I ask for, as I already know from experience~ ANYWAY, I've been trying to complete this lariat necklace and earring set for about 3 weeks now. Finally complete, to my liking and already in my Etsy shop . http://www.etsy.com/listing/50842625/magical-times-lariat-set-furnace-glass And this unisex bracelet, that I made similar to a pair of earrings that I made for myself. And yesterday, while I was on a "creative roll", I made these earrings: "Expressions in Organics" They will all be available in my Etsy shop soon! BTW: If you see something you really like, you might just want to go ahead and ...

Keeping it real

Since I like to write this like a journal on my jewelry making journey, I figured I would share my experience for today. As I mentioned in a previous post about exploring more local shops and galleries to sell my jewelry in, I did apply to 2 galleries which are juried ie: you must be voted in by board members. So when I got home from work today, in a rainy down pour; checking the mail box....I see my own hand writing on a big envelope which lets me know that I've gotten notice, (and my photos) back from one of the galleries. This was the BIG one that I really hoped to get into. Now, what I always do, is go to a gallery or shop first to check it out. See what types of items they carry, jewelry, etc. And I check over the shop as well, to see what type of feel or appeal that it has. I never blindly just ask a shop to carry my work or apply without checking it out first! And if I feel like my work will fit in at a perspective location, then I make a move. Moving right along to the punc...
