Sorry for the delay in getting new items in my Etsy shop as I hoped I would last week, but I had "day job" business to attend to last week and didn't get to finish my projects that I was working on. I did get to read and post in the blogs that I follow last night, and did some reading, got to bed late..... Wanted to start today fresh (get up early) and get working on ALOT of projects that I have under wraps. Soooo I did work out this morning (Lisa) and was hoping to post a picture of our "painted" living room; haven't done that yet, maybe later tonight I'll come back and post. I finished 2 jewelry pieces today. One is a funky, rather bold lampwork bracelet with sterling silver, Greek beads and viking knit wire work for the band. The other is another funky piece that I'm calling "You Rock". It consists of funky designed artisan polymer clay beads, artisan made bead caps and the whole piece is oxidized, with an oval link sterling silver ...

Happy Monday! Happy Labor Day! Hope everyone is enjoy this holiday. Here's the new bracelets that I've made over the weekend. The first I call "Root beer Float". It's really pretty- I love the color combinations that the light blue and brown make together. This consists of a set of lampwork beads that I got from Laffing Gull Designs (htpp://laffinggull.etsy.com) and Greek ceramic beads from Mykonos. I used copper as an accent color and coordinating crystals. This bracelet is really light weight too. Had extra beads, so I include matching earrings. I love the swirly beads and had extras of those too, so I made myself a pair of earrings. (The bumpy beaded earrings go with the bracelet.) Right now it's 11:50 pm. and I can't believe that I'm up this late (for me) making jewelry, taking pictures and posting this blog. What can I say? When I get on a roll, I just have to finish the projects while they're fresh in my mind and I feel inspired to do them. I am hoping to get these new items posted in my Etsy shop tonight. We'll see. I've had these pink lampwork beads for some time now; sometimes it seems like I just get tired of looking at the same beads sitting around and finally I say to myself, "o.k. they have to go somewhere now", "gotta make something with them", because I'm ALWAYS seeing new beads that I want to buy. I can't believe it's Thursday already! This has been a good week for me; not sure if I mentioned it or not, but I am on vacation from my "day" job this week. Not going anywhere, or doing anything exciting, just getting rest, rejuvenation, soul searching and the like. I'm doing ALOT of reading this week. I have something like 7 books I'm involved in right now. And finally....I've created some new jewelry pieces. Yeah! The first is a set that I've been working on for some time now as some of you already know. It's a lampwork disc set that consists of a necklace, bracelet, and convertible earrings. I call it "Tuscany" for the rich earthy tones in the beads. I made the bracelet first, then ran out of wire to complete the necklace, (finally got the wire), kept braking beads, and not sure if I would have enough to make interchangeable earrings, so that went on the back burner also. Have you ever been soooo busy, work obsessed, over-achieving to no end? Sometimes you've got to take a step back; search....look for what's really important in your life. I've had a couple of weeks like this, where the only way to describe it is a "revolution" in my life. Sometimes you need to be hit over the head with something to realize what's really going on. So I did have my "wake-up" call from the universe and realized what I had to do. I'm so glad that I've finally had the desire to sit here and write this blog. I've done some soul searching, slowing down to what really matters here. I lost my desire to create anything lately, but good news and healing are on their way. So trying to get back to feeling creative, I went to a bead show yesterday and bought a new bead stash! See anything you like? A quick hello to all! My thoughts today are kinda jumbled. The main thing I do want to talk about is how much time I spend promoting my jewelry business than I actually make jewelry! I just can't believe the amount of time I spend on this computer, writing blogs, reading blogs, joining groups, etc. A great book I've read that I highly recommend to anyone in the jewelry/arts and crafts field is: "Marketing and selling your handmade jewelry", by Viki Lareau. Great book! I think she states that you will spend 3 times the amount of time promoting your business, than you actually make jewelry. Well, I have to agree with that! My current schedule allows me to work on my business, usually 4 days a week. Not to mention the daily checking of emails and my Etsy store for sales. And usually my first day I spend talking with others on-line, updating blogs, and the like, sorting through new supplies that may have come in the mail, pricing everything, logging everything (for invent...
